In short, its all the damn practicing.

I've enjoyed CF for a long time, and I enjoyed interaction with Nepenthe as a mortal and immortal. But I think the revamp on Invokers was terrible. The idea that I _must_ actally practice to learn spells is terrible. That is what the command "practice" is for. The same change has been incorporated into other classes, and spread to the game as a whole. It brings a level of realism to CF that I don't find appealing. I basically decided if I'm going to spend time practicing, I might as well be actually learning something in real life.

CF has become much more balanced, which is good.
But many of the changes that lead to this balance have lead to a need for a greater time commitment. When I try to play these days, I feel like if I'm not putting 4+ hours a day into this game, that my character will be marginalized(RPwise and PKwise). This wasn't always the case. I think the game is run by people who put _a lot_ of time into this mud, and this had lead to a mud that doesn't cater to people who have less time. The game is definitely more realistic than ever before, but I've never been looking for the kind of realism it now provides.
