His example was that he was playing a Cabal Leader. Your alternative, "take a break from CF," is not really appropriate or applicable to that kind of situation. You're the cabal leader. You can't take a break from CF. That's why leaders tend to stop logging in (they're "taking a break from CF") or just delete (again, "taking a break from CF"). That sort of thing tends to be bad for the cabal, so TFA is suggesting that, as an alternative to "taking a break from CF" with your character that has tremendous responsibility, you can just take a break from that character for sporadic periods of time with a lesser evolved character, still enjoying CF.

Regardless, I don't see "cabal hopping" as a huge problem. The players that rely on cabal hopping tend to be ones that make little impact (for all the skill/rp development reasons that PB gave in his original post).
