As Ingvar, I tried on several occasions to chat with Ponting. Maybe you saw something I didn't, but his roleplay wasn't remotely competent to my eyes.

Actually, the Warders of that time had several who were tough to fight (Culwhch comes to mind), but couldn't string a sentence together. It got to the point where other Warders, who were rather good RPers, were more or less apologizing for the bloodthirsty mindlessness that Culhwch displayed. I'll use Culhwch as my one for now, not that I have any clue who else Culwhch has played.

None of this undermines my point in any case. The fall of people with a "killer" priority is gradually being replaced by a rise of people with a "roleplay" priority. While the two aren't mutually exclusive, you can put your work into one or the other at times. Do you head out hunting, or pursue that quest you have an inkling about? Chat at the Inn, or check the Past for ranking parties? Etc. The evidence given by the tests says that a shift in the answers is happening or has happened.

> > I'm not sure if you are still addressing me here, but I'll stand by my point: If someone is only good at the PK aspects of the game, I don't think of them as a top tier player in the overall sense.

> Well, yes... but that's sort of a moot point. You'll recall that this issue initially came up when you implied that the rise of roleplaying was somehow correlated to the absence of "Killer" types that I was lamenting in my briet (n/t) post.

> My response to that suggestion, unless you wish to retract it, is that the Killer-types also tend to be good roleplayers. I can name a grand total of one person whom I'd consider an exceptional PKer who isn't also a good roleplayer (or at the very least, a positive contribution to CF RP), and in the case of the person in question (Seņor Pumpkin) it's due more to lack of desire than ability. While I don't consider Arolin elite, as noted, he did manage to even do a decent job with Ponting.

> Anyway...I challenge you to name one "PK designated hitter," as you put it, aside from the above-mentioned squash. If you can't, then doesn't that sort of undermine your point?
