Yeah...the whole evil not being able to group with good is a throwback to when CF was a cookie-cutter MUD.

I see it as an automated RP error-checking routine. CF really doesnt need it any more. In addition it severely restricts roleplaying schemes, your situation not being the only one, of course.

The shaman in your story could have easily avoided the whole situation by using detect evil and that fabled 'l' command. Honestly, you should know alot more about your companions than what they say. I think alot of players actually ignore what most chars say until they have really proven themselves.

My suggestion, get rid of the restriction for players above level 10. And for the RP aspects, let the immortals receive a message about good and evil grouping together (even through a neutral bridge) as it should be very uncommon.
