> The point I think you're ignoring is that this feedback we're excluding is coming after the decision was already made. I'm not realistically lobbying to get Jaldean reinstated, as I know that isn't likely at this point. I was stating my displeasure/disgust at the sordidness of the whole affair as I perceived it. 90% of the points I made in my post have general validity beyond the single matter at hand. > If you think a particular immortal is doing a good job, by all means, let your voice be heard. I certainly won't ignore it. Just be sure you do that earlier than, say, a month after the person in question leaves or is asked to leave. At this point you're trying to get toothpaste back in the tube. I never interacted with Jaldean, personally. But if you'd asked me to name popular imms six months ago, Jaldean would have been high on my list. I'd heard enough people talk about him that I just took it as a given. If you want to officially recommend that players submit little letters of support for heroimms or imms they want to see succeed, then that's great. But prior to this, the official position has been more one of "You don't know what's going on behind these doors, so butt out and let us decide." > I can concieve of nothing half as ludicrous as that statement. I can't even seriously imagine a day when CF could pay for itself. I can state for a fact that some members of the immstaff disagree with you. > The point is to make a strong statement that as an immortal you keep our secrets and don't ruin our surprises. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that this has all too often not been the case in the past. To me, being an immortal is a whole lot more fun if I don't need to worry about you knowing about a new project/quest underway before I do. Be realistic. You aren't going to sue someone for $10,000 for divulging a quest or skill on a non-pay mud. "Your Honor, the defendant not only told the witness how to get traveling boots, but he also told her about upcoming class changes!" You'd be laughed out of court. You know it, they know it. Why the meaningless bluster then? Are people innately less honest than they used to be? I dunno, maybe... but I sort of doubt it. --- As for the other immortal responder, I'd like to thank him for proving my point about his immaturity, and suggest that if he's going to try his hand at personal insults, he at least tries to get his facts straight so he doesn't make a fool of himself.
