First, I'd like to request Dioxide, or some designated forum administrator of his, to delete the posts with the log of Jaldean's denial. It is not for public consumption.

As for the post itself, yes I was serious. I would think treating such a situation in a flippant manner would have been disrespectful of Jaldean's player.

Finally, as a note of some explanation to the player base as a whole: long before CF became an LLC it had been recognized by the Immortal staff as a job. This was (and is continuing to be) done because we want the game to run at a level of quality that reflects well on us as a group and individually. To maintain and improve upon the game two major improvements to the old, traditional MUD management system (i.e., ad hoc) needed to occur. The first was to standardize and codify how the Immortal staff operated -- from how we treat players to how we develop the game to how we work with one another. The second was to define what is expected from a person who is a member of the Immortal staff. This leads the MUD down a path that is more serious in its administration than in the past, but one that is necessary in order to more than the average MUD that falls flat on its face.

While this seriousness and the requirements needed to run the MUD at our desired level of quality may turn off some people who wish to become an Immortal, it is more advantageous for the game in the long run and, we believe, has fuller benefits for those who find a fit withing the Immortal staff.
