Unkillable shopkeepers bug me. I understand the game balance reason for their existence. (Certain pills, wands, etc. from far-off places could be nasty if acquired in mass quantities.) However, I think they are implemented in a poor and unrealistic fashion.

If I was so powerful that a dozen of Thera's finest couldn't put a scratch in me, would I enter the return potion market?

Other solution: Switch them over to the type of code used in Basilica, Eryn Galen, and the like: Have the shopkeeper himself be a reasonably tough guy, but who can call guards (or whatever is appropriate for the area) to back himself up when needed. Surely, with all the money that return potion man is making, he can afford some hired muscle, or at least the protection of the law. Make them a really big pain to kill, but not impossible for the truly determined and clever.

Other other solution: Make attacking/stealing from shoppies illegal in protected areas. What self-respecting Arbiter can permit Joe Rager to ransack Galadon's economy? Expand the "tell the Arbiter" code that shoppies use when criminals visit to include attacks on their person.

Nitpicky? Probably.
