No, YOU should have let it go. Seriously. If I messed that up, I'll just tell you. It's a post by Ipsissimus. I found it by randomly clicking in the cf forums (page 4 I think) and found it after 3 clicks. It exhibits both "telltale" signs that it is Sebeok posting. So I guess I just outed Sebeok. Now everyone knows he posts as Ipsissimus. He played Thalen too, obviously, then. Ok in all seriousness...is this a clear indication that the original poster is NOT Sebeok? Nope. But it does shoot to complete hell your theory and proof that it IS. Sure, this is only one post, but I found it in TWO MINUTES. Your whole point was, and I quote: You just lost a whole passel (passle? pastle? screw it)...You just lost a whole bunch of credibility in my eyes. Because of your ridiculous assertion that (in my eyes) is wrong? (When I first read the post I thought it was "An Immortal" who you were claiming you KNEW had written it...that's how little of Sebeok's posts I see in it.) Somewhat. What really bugs me is that this COULD be the post of an Imm (I doubt it's Sebeok, but it could be a different one...I really don't know), but that doesn't matter. You avoided the question as adeptly as a candidate for public office...by simply attacking the nearest and most handy thing possible. You obviously didn't like the question that was posed. Amazingly, Arolin (and less amazingly, Thinhallen) earned way more respect from me on this issue than you did, because they gave an honest answer. Macheath did too, for that matter, though his answer isn't one I like so much. Now that you've had time to read through all of THEIR answers, why don't you at least copy one and tell us that THAT is your reason for posting when you claim to not even play anymore? Or do you have some sort of ulterior motive to all of this CF-imm-bashing? One of them doing your sister*, or some such? *Insert the word "mother", "daughter", "girlfriend", or "wife" as appropriate.
"(some do one of the two, but only you do both)". I can do even better though. I spent another 3 minutes doing a forum search. Sebeok hasn't posted since 10/18. He was a fairly regular poster prior to that, but then it simply stopped. And before you ask, yes, I searched more than one time, using the different names he's known to post under. So all of a sudden, he decided to come back and start posting again after almost 2 weeks of not doing so, and used LfA as a handle? Sure.
