If I remember correctly the original post was vaguely asking for how he or some mortal could create a cabal. There's not a prescribed way to do this, because it's not something that happens. Maybe I was playing the game in some sort of delusion, but I distinctly remember Shokai saying about a year ago that: "If the Knight cabal ever came to exist again, it wouldn't appear out of nowhere. There would have to be some decent players playing the role of the Knight cabal to illustrate its usefullness and purpose and ability to thrive." (paraphrased, I know Shok doesn't talk that way). If I misunderstood that players can actually have an impact on Immortal consciousness/involvement re: new cabal through actually roleplaying (as opposed to forum/email suggestion), then please tell me. honestly. Because personally, I always thought the best way to get ideas across in CF was through roleplaying in the actual game, as opposed to OOC methods of suggestion. Meaning, if I gathered a group of ten or so very competent people and acted as though a cabal existed, it might catch the attention of a supporting Immortal - and that this method was preferable to email/forum suggestion (and added more to the game, to boot). > > > > This, I said. > > Um, that cabal exists because an immortal planned it and implemented it. It's not an example of a cabal started my mortals where an immortal was later brought into it for support. Also, the nature of the Cult made it so that members could not join any existing cabals - meaning, the cult stood on its own merits as a cabal-like institution. Maybe I was mistaken, but from my viewpoint, this dedicated mortal interest encouraged Sacer to put the cabal into place. So - what I am saying is, why not try? Why not attempt to build a cabal from the ground (mortal involvement) up? It does not seem so remotely removed from reason that if a supportive Immortal saw a group of competent players acting as though a cabal already existed, s/he might work to bring that cabal into existence. Personally, I've tried this with a couple of characters, myself - like I said, I expect disappointment/obstacles, but I would never advise someone to allow that to dissuade them. And there is some small reward. Now - are you saying that starting a cabal this way is *Impossible*? Or simply just very very improbable/unprecedentated?

I didn't mean to sound critical of you, despite my title to "ignore the Immortal". I just wanted to give this guy some encouragement. I know there's alot of resentment going on this board right now, but I'm not intending to include myself in it, here.

The best example of this is the Scarab, with little mortal involvement, but still pushing through as a result of intense Immortal involvement.
Well, here's my thought: Was it just the Scarab, or was it the initial interest in the Cult. Once Sacer began giving titles to morts a la "initiate of the scarab" mortal interest in the Cult increased (seemingly) dramatically. Suddenly everyone was wondering: "Do they have a cabal channel?" "Do they have special powers that Sacer gives them?" "Are they now like a cabal??"
