Another arguement I'll throw at you is this, the way the game is played good and evil are polarized to fight each other...with (at times) little reason other than aura. Keep in mind I'm speaking mechanics here, not roleplay. You throw neutrals into the mix and mechanic-wise you end up with an odd wild card. I'm not saying that it's impossible, as I've said many many times before...if you can envision a role and play it well, do so, you'll be rewarded for it. If you want a neutral shaman of some diety, roll up a good or evil shaman, and start planning how you'll come around to neutrality...and stick to it, regardless of what happens. I hate using this as an explanation, because I can think of a few scenarios where it would work as well...however you come into a matter of game balance and class/race balance, as well as a tenative balance in what class/race combos are available per alignment.
