The way I was told about this was from some high level imm (I think it was Twist) on IRC. It was around the time there was a bunch of healers running around with extreme dam-rolls and getting unempowered for it (one healer was unempowered while in hell as I recall). So all in all, about 2 years ago. The way it was explained was that for some classes without enhanced damage (healers and three mage classes), if they were to have more than 20 damroll gear on, for each additional dam-roll their saves would be penalized 5%. Since there's not many reliable ways to test this, and because of the verboseness of the description, this seemed truthful to everybody (and especially in light of anecdotal evidence like the now infamous Gergran-log ../logs/messages/9645.html). If it ever were this way or not, I have no way to tell since I haven't got code access, but I'd like to take this opportunity to appeal to the immortals, that IF you put schemes like this in effect, to let the players know about it. That would stop rumors like this spreading. Thank you and goodnight.
