Unfortuneatly, the power to emote , though giving many more benefits to the game, does give the chance to cheat. For instance I noted a bug in it and reported it, that if you are garbled, you can: emote says "I hate being garbled." and it won't come out garbled. Also you can do as Rune said, or something along the line of emote gives you a gleaming white sword. But you just hope the cheater gets caught and punished, but I would like to see more emote-type commands, like an emote that doesn't start with your name, which would be nice, but too hard to implement unfortuneatly (not to hard to do, but too hard to keep people from cheating). I find that the space is not so bad that people don't ignore it in the case of possesive anyway.
