First off, assassins DID used to be called ninjas back in the day, when they had crazy spells and could be in masters and all that. Secondly, I like the idea that you should be able to assassinate someone in more way than one. I know the standard assassinate differs depending on your weapon, but I'm talking about something more along the lines of a non-direct kill.
Such as:
Poison food: This would be somewhat like casting poison on food and making someone sick, but on a more damage-inducing scale. I don't know how it could be limited to a PK range, but its just an idea.
Strangulate: Like the strangle skill now, but would be a more drawn out attack. Depending on size/strength/dex/etc. the assassin would attempt to asphyxiate the target. It would start out as a small damage attack, but would last through X amount of rounds. After the first round it would be weak, the second would do a little more, etc. until the target either died or threw the assassin off. The target would be able to get some attacks off, but lessened in damage, while the assassin would be limited to the strangle, but would be able to give up at any time.

These are just some ideas I thought of

> Hey, they're a really cool class, but for some reason I always picture some Far East D&D setting when I look at their list of skills. Heck, every country has had assassins all throughout history, and since this mud is more based on the Medevil Europe type deal (Castles, Inn's, Brewery's, etc...) you would think that assassins would be more along those lines...forgoing things like Kotegaeshi and Kansetsuwaza-WAZA-WAH!!! The word NINJA is more fitting I believe.

> Things CF's assasins should be able to do:
> Get rid of the standard 'assassinate' for one. Instead, have several different skills that could require a time duration to effectively kill someone. Like using a garrot to strangle someone. More types of poisons...one of which could be a devastating kind that will kill in a matter of hours unless it's cured. With that in mind you could put a ladder-system into effect (like invoker spells) where the assassin would have to perfect the normal poison-dagger or whatnot in order to get this.

> Anyhow, just some thoughts.
