It's rather obvious from your tone what you think the answer is. Next time, try to pick slightly more neutral language. Take a tip from Eric Prothero's posts on the OT board -- it's much less obvious who he thinks the next president should be than it is what you think the answer is to this "question" you're "asking." :) No, morale is not intended to be a device by which immortals and our friends can get a leg up on "hardworking honest joe" types such as yourself. :p RoA isn't even that. Morale, at present, does almost nothing. It's like if we added mana to the game, but neglected to add spells or communes just yet. Maybe I'm just a total dumbass and I don't see how I could possibly abuse that if I tried. Incidentally, while CF in general is, as always, a work ever in progress, you can still safely consider morale to be "more" in progress still. Which is to say we still haven't troubleshot all of the oddities that may at times make it behave in mystical-seeming ways.
Or, wait now, *gasp* maybe I'm feigning that stupidity. Maybe Shokai and I got together over a couple of beers one night and hatched a nefarious scheme that goes something like this: we'll code in a complex system where characters become less happy if they're starving or sick. Then we'll roll up new characters who will eat all the time so they're never hungry. If they get sick, we'll delete and start over faster than you can say "Crap, I got imp again." A shaman plagues one of them? Why, they'll drop link and ne'er reconnect again. With these unhungry and unsick supermen, bouyed into invincibility by their own self-esteem and general happiness, we will rule CF with an iron PKing fist. In an ironic turn, each of these characters will be a level 26 duergar warrior so we can plausibly blame their incredible PKing prowess on SMUG. It's all too easy.
