As has been stated happy/unhappy was not the correct terms to be used for morale, they give a totally wrong idea as to what was going on. Basically morale is a non numerical adjective for your hp/mana/mvs and general wellbeing. A starving man suffering the debilitating effects of poison is not as capable as a man at his peak. > It could go both ways, then why does the mud tell you that this is they way it shall go. Its a lich, you know that, liches are invariably overpowered. You come up against a lich you expect your your best to barely scratch him, you also expect to be another little soul-ball in his purse. But, when your not, you are far exceeding expectations. Like when a company on the stock market loses 15 cents per share and was expected to lose 20, it usally rises on that good news.
Nepenthe has already said "Great you survived the lich, your happy your alive life is wonderful...you just need to spend the next 3 days sleeping off your injuries and generally not the same man as you are eating your cornflakes."
