It could go both ways, then why does the mud tell you that this is they way it shall go. Its a lich, you know that, liches are invariably overpowered. You come up against a lich you expect your your best to barely scratch him, you also expect to be another little soul-ball in his purse. But, when your not, you are far exceeding expectations. Like when a company on the stock market loses 15 cents per share and was expected to lose 20, it usally rises on that good news.
