> You know, I do not think the immortals truely understand that some people put an incredible amount of time and concentration on certain characters and backgrounds/role-playing ideally. Also, when we hone our skills to utmost perfection, role-play well, and fight with cruel abilities. And then, when you earn your right into a cabal, they revoke the ability by judging you with ficklness, it is either a power-trip or they are hypocritical, they should not have let you in in the first place if they were just going to kick you out...I mean when you do get kicked out of a cabal you have been striving for your entire life then get kicked out...it kind of ruins your whole character, if you are following the role-playing strategy, not to mention all your hours are gone to waste...any other ideas on this?

I've never heard of people being kicked out of a cabal 'for no reason'. Not counting cabal purges, and Empire (as Uncle Bob stated so well), people generally don't get the boot unless they are total screwups. And believe me, I've seen some complete screwups stay in cabals for what seems an eternity, chasing away the quality players, before they finally got removed.

As for the comment by Nibbechist on imms documenting mortals... they do. If you make a minor screw up which is noticed by an imm (any imm, not just one in your cabal) you will likely get your history file tagged. Once you start getting a bunch of minor tags, or a major one, then the next time your cabal immortal notices you, chances are, you will get talked to and/or axed. It might be for something you did weeks ago and forgot about, or thought that nobody noticed.

I'm sure you have seen forum posts from others bemoaning about how unfairly they are treated by cabal imms, but generally if people are posting about it on the forum, they are doing it either for 1) revenge, 2) self-pity, or 3) lying our their asses to try to disrupt things. Generally, the more unknown the poster name, the more likely they are not telling the whole story.

Anyway, life doesn't end when you are removed from a cabal. Some people get back in, once they've atoned for their sins. Some go completely psycho, rebelling against everything they once supported. For most, it should be a chance to further hone their roleplaying skills, and be a memorable change of pace. In any event, your character is still playable as long as you are willing to put the hours in, so saying his life is wasted is being a bit melodramatic.
