However, I do see your point. So maybe keep a queue of the last 10 rooms you've been in and don't count those as points. Or you could use a version of a system that Mume (another mud) uses. What they do (or did - haven't played there in a few years) is they keep track of exploration points. Each time someone enters a room with exploration points, they and their group get those points, and then those exploration points are scattered across the globe. Instead of exploration points, you could just scatter those points across wilderness areas, or to prevent stacking up of a bunch of points in one untravelled area, randomly scatter the points throughout the area you're currently in.

Anyways, I'm just throwing my ideas out there. For all I know about the code behind cf, something similar similar to this is already implememented. It just doesn't appear that way.
