* * * The Fourth Commandment of the BattleRagers * * *
[It is forbidden to beseech or manipulate any form of magic other than that
expressly mentioned above. To do so is to mock the gods and a blasphemy of
your combat prowess.]
The same magi enumerated in the Second Commandment, the objects of our Rage,
have created and spread through Thera objects imbued with their foul taint.
These objects come in various shapes and forms, some as innocent-looking as
a flask of water or a bit of a root, but they are tainted nevertheless. We
must never even think about using such items ourselves--it would be a most
profound and contemptible hypocrisy, and as the Commandment states, mockery
of the same gods whom we must respect in the utmost. Furthermore, our
strength comes from our purity and our righteousness. We must never forget
this! To employ such foul manifestations of the twisted power is to bring
that taint upon ourselves, and once that seed is planted in our breasts,
it will devour us and sap our strength. This is certain.
Obviously, magics such as the ones found in these creations can also come
directly from the magi themselves. It goes without saying that to accept
this form of "aid" (though in fact a damnation of the worst sort) flies
in the face of everything for which we stand. Magi know our feelings on
this point, and will sometimes seek to mock us by casting their so-called
benevolent spells upon us. For this reason it is wise, if not imperative,
to always exude our greatest hatred for such spells, that the sheer force
of our wills may repel such incantations from our persons.
There are many, sadly, who beseech and manipulate such magics, though
they do not dabble directly in them. These souls are also tainted and in
need of a baptism of steel and blood. Some of them may be persuaded of
the error of their ways, while others will remain obdurate and be counted
as our perpetual foes. But we must not tolerate, or turn a blind eye to
such practices. Be wary of companions, for to knowingly overlook their
past, present, or future use of magics is to engage in hypocrisy that
threatens our very souls.
