I agree with Imbrogno (although not as vehemently) with the following reasoning:

It's a matter of respect and relative standing. Relative to you, that little dark elf was a newbie. He didn't know about Thrym. He didn't know much about Balator. He only knew that you were someone of a very very high rank (to him) that could help him out with the game. You are to him as, say, an Immortal is to you.

Now imagine if an Immortal abused that automatic trust you feel and led you into a deathtrap. Imagine if they *really* roleplayed their roles without any thought to the consequences on people that blindly trust them? Wouldn't you be pissed if the Omegus came up to you, asked you to follow him, and then blithely led you into a death? Some things superceed "your bad boy roleplay." One of these things is personal maturity, and recognition that with your knowledge of CF comes a certain responsibility not to abuse that knowledge in a way that bends the rules. Purposely plotting to slay someone outside your PK range by manipulating their lack of knowledge shows a lack of maturity. And, personally, if an Immortal ever does mess around with your character (exhibiting their own "evil roleplay"), I do not doubt for a single moment you would come to the forum in seconds to whine to everyone about how immortals are so unfair.
