It's always amazing how suddenly people start being strict about things like roleplaying ethos when it starts to affect them :P There are a good twenty cheesy RP reasons I can think of why paladins can attack you in town and still be lawful, each one, in my mind, just as logical and valid as the cheesy RP justification for Imperials to attack, or lawful evils in general. As we've seen with Imperial law, being lawful means you follow a set of laws, not necessarily the city laws of the Arbiters. In a Maran Paladin's case, the laws he follows are Shokai's laws, for example: 1. Thou shall not kill good. You as a player Mithadris have broken at least three of these laws, and thus, have broken The Great Lord's law, and thus, it is perfectly justifiable for a Paladin to attack you and try to send you to Shokai, where you might be Reborn in His Flames. I saved all the really serious laws of Shokai for the game :) These are just examples that I find just as silly and justifiable as Imperial law. Khiravn.
2. Thou shall destroy evil mercilessly.
3. Thou shall not practice dark magiks.
4. Thou shall not betray thy comrades.
5. etc.
