1. I've died before moments after coming on to CF. Once, when I was a Knight, I came directly into Llorenthos and some transmuter inside the Castle. Yeah, it sucked, but it taught me a valuable lesson: Don't quit out in obvious places. It was just plain bad luck that he was lurking around.
2. He probably didn't kill the guildguard. More than likely, he was doppeled as a shaman. Again, bad luck for you.
You can't control those two things, they're a result of Zorszaul's hunting skills (ie. spamming "where pk", and moving in for the kill, rapidly.
Now, what you can control, and where the blame really lies for your death:
1. You're a hero. You haven't perfected word of recall. You crazy?
2. All you had on you was a curse. You really, really, really should have been able to get away. Next time carry things that will take you far away from enemies, and use them.
2a. To me it looks as though he was almost being nice to you -- no maledications, no vampiric touch, nothing but the mighty chromatic orb.
3. You stopped in your mad dash to flee to sanc and cure critical..
4. Learn better places to run, and learn to run faster.
5. Quit out from Thera in better places than inside the Galadon guild.
