I completely aggree with you that a ring shouldn't have better AC than plate. *BUT* Seeing as this is fantasy, and most everything here is in some way magical (sorry Ragers, maybe mystical is better?), not everything would need a fix. Maybe bump Plates/Torso stuff up just a smidge, but you wouldn't have to have every IMM working EQ every second of everyday until 2002...
