I have always enjoyed my non-cabaled characters more than my cabaled ones. Mostly because whenever I have tried to think outside the box of “Follow For instance, I had a warrior who I tried to make an intellectual that came to the conclusion that magic would indeed destroy the world if not brought under control. The interview went something like this. [BATTLE]: You don’t hate magic and mages? Me: I do not hate anyone. I merely agree that magic must be controlled and contained or the warping of nature will only end in destruction of the World, as we know it. [BATTLE]: If you do not hate magic you can not be a Battlerager. Me: If our philosophies coincide and I agree with all you believe, why must the source of that belief be questioned? I will battle magic with all of the force you do. I just do not hate. [BATTLE]: If you do not hate magic you can not be a Battlerager. Answer: All who do not join the Empire are enemies of the Empire. I just wish we could get a little wiggle room in the Cabals and we might see more diversity in the roles.
Another time, I was making a Shaman for Empire. The Empress told me that I must take the Bloodoath to become a citizen. I told her I could not take the oath because my soul was not mine to give. It belonged to the Imm I had pledged to follow.
