Tonight I had the misfortune of interacting with someone. I say Misfortune because This person has picked the roll that drove me to stop playing Citizens, and Ragers. And I say Interacted with, because I spent a good hour and a half trying to have a lucid conversation with said person trying to elicit more than form rp...to no avail.

This is what I mean.
Who has noticed any difference between:
"Oath or die", or
"give up magic or die", or
"Praise the Truth(scarabs)or die", or
"Praise the light(marans) or die",
"Say I am the Mortal Lord of shrubberies, or die".
Not much difference there to the outside observer. That is where Roleplay comes in...WHY do you have these beleifs that make you a fanatic?
While these roles are adequate and valid in the Carrion fields environ, I have found myself trying desperately to distance myself from this....well...foil and stale roleplay...to no avail. Why? because it takes zero skill to roleplay this roll without any raison d'etre, and way to many people in my opinion opt for this. This is why I gave the person mentioned the opportunity to proove that he was not so shallow....and was sadly dissapointed.

I challenge all of you. Roleplay is fantasy, and is by defenition boundless...trust me, roles that don't fit into the above foil CAN be fun. And if you descide to have one of those or its like as your role...fine...but at least put the effort to be original about it?

Please?
