Am posting here because my thoughts are fresh, and the log
board doesn't seem to accept my post.

I deliberately put in the crusader knight, the
bible, the cross, as an attempt to put in christianity
into the game. In part it was because the paladins are
all templars and knights of the crosses and champions of
the crosses and yes, perhaps there are other uses of the
cross but I think it's stretching it a little to say, 'Oh, that
cross doesn't refer to christianity'. I suppose another part
of it was since there's so much of an evil slant in the world,
why not some goodness too, or at least my concept of goodness?

Since the concept of paladins and knights have a significant
link to medievial concepts of chivalry, the healer king,
church militant orders and even the historic knights templar
(whom were christian knights, and yes I know about the ambiguity
of their fall), it does not seem impossible that this shouldn't
exist in Thera. It is not terribly difficult to either see Thera
as an ancient or post apocalyptic earth, or to see the knights as
popping up during some kind of warp-gate accident, or whatever.
I was going to play a christian knight and had rolled one, until
I was firmly rebuffed by an immortal who when I said I worshipped
Jesu, the Christ, he said 'I've never heard of him, I'll let him know
you prayed if I see him'.

Now, if you're going to have Satan in the game, I don't see why
you can't have people believing in Christ in the game, and having at
very least empowerment.
