The imperial in question was just a shitty rper, but I disagree a little with what
you've said.

I can aid the elf without making it obvious I'm doing it for the boots. If I were
evil I would put a condition that he would someday have to repay his debt. His life
is now mine to do with as I please. Sort of the evil twisted puppet master motif.
This act *is* entirely selfish, and not the least bit selfless.

I know this is getting into the 'what if' multiple scenario game, but I could justify
the act without revealing I was only doing it for the boots.
