> Enforced sleeping xx hours a day, elves meditate maybe 3-4 hours a day, dwarves maybe 10 hours etc... This would create a "nightlife" when the nightwalkers are active during the night and they would sleep during daylight. Some would enjoy the night and others the day. Increases rp.
So you're out adventuring and all of a sudden you have to sleep? Hmm I end up resting and sleeping enough to heal the way it is.
> Prices should vary in all cities, maybe according to some index, cause of bad growth etc.
Prices do vary in all cities. Also products vary in cities. Food, containers etc...
> Maybe time should go faster? Seldom people dies of old age I've noticed.
Time goes fast enough already. I've just started liking my character and he's almost 40 years old.
> Dirt kick is fine but I think it's a little bit easy to hit someone with. Why not add "dirty trick" or something instead which includes any method of blinding your opponent. (Putting your fingers into his eyes etc..)
Kicking dirt should be easy. It isn't hard to throw or kick dirt in someone's face.
> Something has to be done about this statsrolling cheating. A child can make a script or a program that runs until you get the best stats. Maybe this could be done by tuping the alphabetical value of a stat instead of seeing it in digits. Maybe there should be a temporary stat which you get when you create your char and a "hidden" potentional stat which varies randomly which is your maximum potentional value that is individually. Also, considered adding abilites that shows up later in life? Level 20 or after? Especially dextrous, strong, ability to polymorph, ambidextrious (100% dualwield) etc... Maybe also flaws, ugly, scars, easy to bleed etc... There are just some examples.
Why? So they have good stats. That doesn't mean they're going to be a kick butt player. Rolling stats is a tedious thing. It works fine the way it is.
> Certain abilities for "heroes" may also be available. For example ability to walk further and withstand hunger and thirst for a longer period, nightvision, sight sense etc...
They already have that. You gain movement and hitpoints each level. I can walk almost anywhere now without resting.
> Maybe you should have to draw your weapon in order to wield it, not just run around with a drawn weapon all the time. In protected cities it would be forbidden to walk around with a drawn weapon and killing any form of humanoid creatures in cities would be illegal (guards citizens ...)
If you want to roleplay it you can. I don't like the idea of having my favorite blade just sitting there as a target for thieves. I don't know why peace bonding a sword would be a law in towns. Especially one's like Udgaard.
> Drugs, and possibility to get addicted. If you're addicted to something, you've got to drink/eat/inhale whatever it is every xx hours, if you don't you are damaged each tick until you get your drug. Each time you are damaged there's a little chance that you get rid of the addictness.
Oh man I don't like the idea of that at all. Just what I need is to have to check into the Betty Ford clinic for antidote pill addiction.
> Drunktalk, you speak fuzzy when drunk and maybe walk randomly. Walking into walls would hurt you. (1-3 hp?)
Roleplay it. I can drink myself near passing out and my speech doesn't get that much worse. Man how drunk would you have to be to slam into walls repeatedly?
> How the hell am I supposed to gain ranks with my elf healer pacifist? No one listens to a rank 1 kid. Maybe something else should give experience than killing mobs, improving skills and questing. Maybe travelling, dialoging, casting spells, taking hits etc...
Find a group of a paladin or a nice warrior or such. When I was younger I always helped out healers and transmuters. And you do get some learning from getting better with spells and such. So I can just run around the world and gain experience? Cool I'll never have to fight a mob again.
> Thieves could receive a skill called "cut", which means you cut a victims container or money pouch and spills his things to the ground. This should be able even if they wear the container. If you cut his money purse maybe there's a leak for 10 ticks or something and he leaves a gold trail after him.
I guarantee as an assassin I would know if some thief cut my pouch. That and why wouldn't you notice the line of coins falling to the ground wherever you walk? Steal works just fine.
> Trails... Bloodtrails would be nice, if they're on like gushing or less they leave bloodtrails leading xx.
Good idea, but I don't want to code it. That and what if there are multiple people hurt. Do the bloodtrails just mesh together?
> Possibility to bury stuff in wood/hill areas and to dig it up.
Wayyyyy too much opportunity for abuse. Gee I just found all the hero level stuff. I don't know who buried it here.
> Using horses? No move penalty.
Horses would be interesting. Would you be able to fight on them? Would you have to feed them? Would they be a mob of sorts?
> It would be cool to have a stadium where you can bet on horses etc. Or playing other games. I know there are gambling to some degree but I miss some things.
Yeah that'd be fun. You could watch chariot races and such. I also think having a place where you could fight others for money and such would be fun. Gladiator type thing.
> Thieves being able to tail someone in city areas? Following them without being seen, like assassin's stalks. Maybe also ability to mask yourself so that you appear as "Masked person", making it unable to see who you are.
Err they can do that already. Just follow the person.
> Languages? That'd be awesome. Dwarves speaking dwarfish but all races should have a "common speech" too, making it easier to communicate. Learning other languages should be able but not everyone can learn everyone's language. Being bad at speaking a language would add random letters or something to the talk...
I've seen this in a tolkein mush. Was kinda neat, but not sure how much it would bring to the game.
> I miss some of the mage images. A true mage doesn't open a door with his hands or pick items from the floor using physical strength. A mage uses air to open doors and telekinesi to get things. Maybe not essential in PK but an important roleplaying image from my point of view. Costing maybe 1 mana but what that heck...
Just emote it. emote concentrates on the door forcing it to open.
> Bashing doors? (You can't do that, can you?)
> Should be quite hard though.
Hmm not sure how that would work. Would you have to make each door a mob then? From the couple areas I've written for my own curiosity I don't think you can set any flags to allow them to be bashed.
>
> Rangers should get more traps and such to make in the forests, not just snare. For example logs falling down crushing victims etc...
Man snare is plenty. Against assassins and thieves it's almost sure death when the axe wielding ranger shows up to finish you.
> Mages being able to unlock / lock using magics. Also magical locks would be cool, pickproof, but not bash proof.
Hmm whatever happened to knock? Guess it's been gone for awhile now. Hmm I know you can makes doors pick proof. The bashing thing though.. still not sure.
> Brewing potions, scribing scrolls etc?
Brewing was already was taken out of the game. Scribing I'm guessing is similar.
> Forging weapons etc., enchanting objects, creating magical objects?
Weapon forging would be fun. I've forged some knives and such in RL and would love to have it in game. Transmuters used to be able to enchant. Magical objects.. like what?
> A mercenary clan? Or bountyhunters? Possibility to set bounties on people, bountyhunters can see the price on 'who bounty', and collect income from the client. Mercenaries are available for money, choosing allies with wealth. (*cough* sphere greed *cough*)
Already been done unsuccessfully with the syndicate. Assassins can be hired already anyway. So can most people if the price is right.
> Hmm. I think that's all for now. I hope you'll think of it.

Good to see people are thinking and trying to be creative. Keep the ideas coming :)
