I agree with your statements to Nulivos, no doubt. But you judge a good Emperor on how the Empire carries on without him? There is a bit of truth to that, but it's not the whole truth. Some council members I chose out of desperation, some because I thought they would do a good job. As for the Empire crumbling, immediately after I left... it almost always happens like that. The Empire now is 100 times more powerful than when I became High Priest, and 10 times more powerful than when I became Emperor. It can't stay as powerful without an Emperor.. there is bound to be a fall. I do not think this fall was all that precipitous. The only time I can remember the Empire growing in strength with the death of an Emperor, was with the death of Taceolus. Then again, his insanity was tearing the Empire apart, and Istendil was ready to step right in. Nothing happens overnight... take a look around... the Empire ain't in all that bad shape. They have a solid core among the 30-45 ranks, which means when they all hero... watch out.
