Imperials have no honour. They will stop at nothing to get what they want. Less short of attacking in protected places/towns. A fine example is Aradan. He challenged me to a duel at the large crossroad but with him hidden is Diermere an Imperial assassin. If I had gone there, I would be minced meat.

We are not the knights of the old. There are people who bitch about being killed cold blood when naked, unethical killing, honourless slaying, 'cheated' into death, etc, by a Maran or Maran-to-be. Frankly, I'm not bothered. At the end of the day, a dark one falls, and the Light shines brighter. Period. There is no need to duel to prove anything and there is no penalty if you don't accept a duel. Of course, you can choose to be an honourable Maran, but you'll probably be on the losing end coz most of the people of Thera don't give a damn on honour. You don't turn yourself in to an Arbiter just because you attacked in town. Honour is not the main faith we hold.
Like Khivarn said, seek out the shrine of the Phoenix and pray. Read up from the Lycaem. Most importantly, think about your character carefully and in detail. It's not purely I-want-to-kill-evil attitude. Show your desire to be one, both actions and words. We are not a cabal yet(?), either. Our stand against evil is strong, and I think that's what you want. Join us.
How's that for recruitment drive?
Advice :
1. Be prepared to get hunted down and die a lot.
2. Be prepared to be the only Saviour of the world, ie, usually you are alone and hunt alone. Though make a few close friends whom you can trust.
3. Know areas well enough for you to take refuge when you need to find rest and sanctuary.
4. Mostly aggressive to all darkwalkers.
5. Always on the edge in character, never rested. I've typed where and where pk till my fingers jerk every 3 - 4 secs.
6. An underdog in life, against all odds. Very fulfilling role and playability with countless interaction and RP.
