Could it not be coded so that there were two types of pets? There the ones that naturally follow you out of the realms but you can only have one of (kittens, minotaurs, etc.) I'd think there could be a way to copy of the info (by some other name than pets in the programming) that wrote itself a memory of what zombies/conjurations you have. That way, it'd save them properly? Don't know exactly. I'm no master of C++... but it doesn't seem like a huge bit of code. Then again, I can imagine just adding one skill might take a lot of work (shrug). Just speaking out of my boredom here.
