I think we'd all be a lot less frustrated in these crashes if:
1. We could get our zombies/elementals/etc. back without the hellish wait.
2. We didn't wake up dead at the pit with an xp hole that will take an insane amount of time to recover from.
3. If we didn't suffer penalties based on things not our fault.

I'm just thinking that the Imms might want to consider a 'temporary' negation of xp holes/pet times based on the problems we've had lately. I know it's not the imms fault, but it's not ours either.
