I have no clue what the city looks like, having not played in over a month, but....

I think the previous poster wasn't saying that you CAN walk through the city straight east, but that he would like you to slightly alter the layout such that you can. Without knowing more, I'm inclined to say that's a somewhat reasonable suggestion, just for the sake of convenience. Every good-sized city I can think of (except Ofcol, which sucks, and Arkham, where it wouldn't be possible since the main road turns due north) has a major road or other thoroughfare that can be traversed by spamming in one direction.
