I have played imperials in the past (back before immortals anathema'd so frequently and there was usually an emperor) and have grouped with some in the last 3 months or so and am conisdering making a new one. I have questions concerning when you can use the cabal channel however without being anathemad. A scenario- I am the only member of my sect on. There are say 4 or five other citizens on. I am in balator and see a group of possible enemies heading toward the Palace. If they go to attack, I could alert others over the cabal channel incresing the possibility of a successful defense. Would this be A. a sign of weakness on my part for not having my sect handle it B. treason to my sect for i shared information outside of the sect without payment or C. The proper thing to do because i am loyal to the Empire right after sect and god and whatever I can do to strenghthen it at the expense of enemies I should even though I would act to strengthen my sect first if possible. If I choose C and the defense is successful this also prevent me from having to attempt to recover, aiding me as well. Common sense would seem to dictate to me C. would be the right answer, but from what i have heard and kinda seen from the outside, it seems that B. would be more likely, at least on some days. What if i am defending and want information on who is coming or their progress so i know when to make my finaly preparations. Say once again i am the only member of my sect but there are others from other sects who cannot harm the aggressors so would be safe to scout. Can they follow them and report their movements to give what aid they can in defending or would this strengthen my sect at the expense or their own. Does any of this change if Anathema are involved. Another twist, would the answers change say if Agathocles' baby had cried all night or Zulghinlour's car broke down and he had to walk in the rain to get home. I know people exagerrate but from some of the things ive heard it seems empire might be better of without a cabla channel just to avoid temptation. How true is it?
