You're coming up with multiple reasons for why the spell works the way
it does without ANY basis either.

The "simple" spells common to each school suggest that there are basic
spells that need to be learned so that an individual can grow in their
magic.

It's like any project/new activity a person undertakes. As a beginning
martial artist, I'm not immediately taught how to do a reverse round
house kick. Why? 'Cause it's fucking difficult for a beginner. You master
the basics first. The schools of magic differentiate as the students
are taught their "higher level" spells...

so what...

Transmuter alters his eyes to see the invisible.
Necromancer focus his dark energy to see the hidden soul
Invoker manipulates the wind to see the image of an invisible
foe
Conjurer eyes let him view the ethereal plane where no one can
remain hidden.

How many damn permutations are we going to see?

I read over the log, and was fairly irritated. I have to wonder if Hruptek could
have said anything right. From the start, it seemed that Hruptek was on the fast
track to uninduction.

I will say this tho'. It's highly likely that Hruptek has been watched, and a
suggestion was made to the leader to test him instead of booting him outright.
