Ludi won the Rites, not Ioanis. Rezkirat was the only non-herorange participant, so he couldn't fight Ludi, so it boiled down to the two of them. It was basically Ludi's, but Ludi deferred to the youth of Rezkirat, and Rezkirat was named leader. Thus, your suggestion that the imms planned on Rez becoming leader from the start is flawed. If not for Ludi's action, Ludi would have been leader. In other words, mortal action decided the matter, contrary to your argument.
