Ioanis killed ludi twice in one on one.
Ioanis won the one on one portion.
It came down to Ludi and Ioanis in the round robin.
Ludi won that.
The Immortal in charge, did not say it was between Ludi and Rezkirat. The Immortal in charge said it was between Ludi, Ioanis, and Rezkirat.

There were three "events". One on one, round robin, and interview, Offering three "victors" of the rites.

The Immortal in question asked them which of the Three would be Leader.

Now, while Ludi's dislike for Ioanis and the fact that Ioanis beat him in the rites did make Ludi choose to back Rezkirat for the sole purpose of keeping the Leadership away from Ioanis.

As an aside, that kind of ascent to power tastes alot like the kind that goes on in the Empire. I may be off a bit on Ludi's reasoning, but my hypothesis fits all the fact that I am aware of.

(while the reasoning is conjecture, as I was not any of the three, I have seen logs of it from two different viewpoints, as well as having been present. And my explanation of events, bearing a closer resemblance to the facts of what actually happened, I believe have greater weight than the "Ludi won hands down, but was humble and gave it to rezkirat" reconstructed history that you have spouted)

I concede however that mortal action ALWAYS decides the matter. Nomatter the Cabal.

If you want to make that argument. It is ALWAYS mortal action. Who logged in often recently. Who didnt. Who whines over cb (*cough*ludi*cough*). Who doesnt. Who has a positive pk record. Who doesnt come close. Who can speak coherantly. Who cant. Who doesnt want to lead. Who does.

All of these MORTAL actions decide who the Immortals chose. But it is ALWAYS the Immortal's choice.

That is my argument.

Perhaps the rites are not 100% fluff. But I still maintain that they are more than half rp "flavor". Rather than a way for a leader to be chosen.
