I was reading a post nepenthe made where he bemoaned the fact that masters used to be known for exploring but sadly aren’t now. Many feel that master hasn’t been strong, interesting, or fun in quite some time and I know even the master IMMs feel this way occasionally. Respectfully, some might say the IMMs are complaining about a problem they created, hurting master RP with this damn nature-magic war and forcing them to stick with it even when the players try to get rid of it. I’m not going to re-hash the old arguments, how it goes against the RP of a studious mage striving for knowledge and changes them into a pseudo-Imperial, but it’s a fact that ever since this war started Master RP has just not been what it once was. That and the fact that some feel Masters have been screwed over on powers when their enemies keep getting better ones. Now there have been quite a few attempts by master players to get rid of this monkey of their back, but it’s time and again forced back o them by the IMMs. Many would much rather “search for the 5th magic than bother with nature” but are not allowed. How can one bemoan the status, and thereby the players, of a cabal, then refuse to let these same players try and improve it? Bring back the old Master, if not the powers at least the RP. Let us be free of the folly of Twist.
