Go for it.

Just don't be disappointed if you "fail". "Failure" meaning that your "cabal" dies with your character's death or inability to log in.

And also note that it would be completely necessary to get Immortal support/interest/involvement for your "cabal" to exist as part of the code (obviously). The best example of this is the Scarab, with little mortal involvement, but still pushing through as a result of intense Immortal involvement.
