Along the Eastern Road 
  Constructed of great slabs of closely fitted stone, a wide and well-
traveled road runs to the east and west here.  Tough plants with spiny
leaves dot the rocky land, clinging to life in the dry and sandy soil.
Rising steeply to the north, the ground folds and wrinkles into a
wasteland of rocky cliffs and defiles, atop which crouches a dark and
forbidding wood.  The endlessly swirling Sands of Sorrow stretch
southward to the limit of the horizon.  The outline of straight walls
and rounded towers wavers in the desert heat to the east.
