An Opening in the Twisting Trees
  The narrow path widens and the forest becomes sparse as you near an 
overgrown glade.  Grassweeds nearly five to six feet in height cover the 
vale, swaying with the moving mist.  The path ends at the edge of the 
glade, but across it, over the swaying grass, you can see what looks like 
a squat, nondescript building.  It has no windows or markings, and only a 
single doorway facing your direction.

A Dark Forest Path Along a Great Barricade
  A narrow path meanders to a crossroads through a dense forest of elms, 
ironwoods, and massive, gnarled black oak trees.  Although very little 
light seeps through the dank fog in these woods, you can see that the 
tree trunks to the south seem to have bent and knit together like
latticework, forming an impassable living barrier.  The trees and wildlife 
thin as they near the barricade and are replaced with blackened earth and
the feathered stumps of countless arrow shafts.  From the crossroads, 
one path leads southward directly to this barricade, ending at a stout 
wooden gateway.  Other paths lead east and west from the crossroads, 
along the base of the barricade into the dark trees.  And to the north, 
the path crawls deeper into the gloom.

  This small temple lies in ruin.  The great domed roof, constructed from 
white marble, has caved in at its top and along the sides, the stone 
blocks now reduced to rubble.  Shattered statues of elven Gods and 
Goddesses lie on their sides, once magnificent murals are streaked with 
blood, and shredded, burned tapestries hang in tatters from the walls.  
To the south and west, several tree roots have broken through the 
foundation and displaced the temple floor.  Plants and other flora 
seemingly followed, and now the crumbling temple seems more a wild glade 
than a structured room.  A marble archway still stands to the north, 
leading into darkness, and you can see what was the main altar to the east.

  Once the main altar of the temple, this building now lies in ruin.  
The heartstone altar rests against the eastern wall, broken in two, 
and fresco murals giving tribute to the elven Gods and Goddesses are 
now shattered, the painted figures near unrecognizable.  Like the temple 
to the west, several tree roots have broken through the altar room 
foundation and displaced the stone floor.  Plants and creeping vines work 
their way along the walls, giving the perception of unkempt wildland.

  The marble archway leads into a desolated corridor.  The wooden walls 
are rotted and sunken in at several places.  Vines have grown into the 
corridor at these gaps, tearing away at the remaining wall boards with 
a slow, inexorable place.  Sacrificial urns lie shattered across the 
floor, and wall sconces dangle from tarnished silver fittings.  Despite 
the obvious ruin and piles of debris, a rough path has been cleared by 
foot traffic along the corridor, suggesting recent and constant use.

A Shattered Guild
  These quarters were set aside for the healers of Eil Shaeria, but have 
long since been abandoned by the living.  The floor is littered with 
debris from broken furniture and defiled items of worship.  Still there 
are signs of recent use.  A large area has been cleared in the center of 
the room with a painted pentagram sits in the center.  The color of the 
painted lines is unmistakably blood, and black candles have been placed 
at each point along the pentagram.  A damp red black stain in the center 
of the pentagram and the unmistakable smell of rot and decay suggest a 
body lay there within the last day.
