apparent that travel often passes through here, as most of the ground
is scuffed by the hooves of oxen and horses.  Surveying the area about

Smaller, stunted trees crouch to the south of this trail, and to the
north of you are plains that stretch towards a vast expanse of mountains.
Further south are snow-capped peaks that look rather foreboding.  Along

heat, as pockets of gas appear toward that front.  A grove of
shady trees climb above the road to the northeast, suggesting
some shelter from the searing heat along this road.

narrow, as if the wagons veered off and travel was continued on foot
by those who explored the eastern lands.  Snow-capped peaks can be
seen far to the south and a vast plains to the north.  You can

moss, many of the forest creatures are attracted to this area.  The air smells
of timberwood, crisp and refreshing to breath in and the open sky causes the
dew on the moss to sparkle.  A fallen log rests along the forest floor,
gradually decaying in this ancient forest.  The sway of the trees seems
apparent with or without the aid of the wind.  The soft rustle causing you
to feel lulled into a sense of peace.  To the south the clearing opens further
and to the west the clearing opens into an expanse of rolling hills.

A Narrow Span Through the Mountains
  You find yourself at a windy, narrow span which heads further into a stretch
of mountains.  The air stirs around you, dancing through your hair and along
your skin.  The mountains appear to wind to the north, twisting and turning
with dangerous rocks that jut from the ground.  To the south of you is a 
large grove that appears to be ancient and almost impassable.  Were it not
for the canyon path before you, you might consider yourself trapped.  The
canyon continues further to the north and the grove sits further south.

  Tall grass gives way to the jagged rocks that form the outer edge of this
secluded canyon.  Obviously a means of travel, the rock face is barren and
colored with deep reds and grays.  Sandstone and layers of rock are exposed
to the naked eye and leave deep shadows layered on the rocky floor of the 
canyon.  You can hear the faint howl of the wind outside and above the canyon,
