sanc and heal made them damn near perpetual
motion machines). The only thing it was
really useful for was practicing. Know what?
I'd have taken Orderly Mind over it any day,
because you don't need another Master to sit
around with you all day long to get any use
from it. Tome kicks the shit out of both of
them. In fact, Tome is so much better that
I wouldn't even consider playing a non-Master
Invoker simply for the amount of time I'd save
on practicing because of it.
brew? If you sat around spamming brew all
day, you might end up with an aura potion or
two, and an anti-magic shell potion or two,
along with a bunch of others that sucked ass
(oh, yay, detect invis!).
useful pet for the bash and trip that came
out like 1 in every 20 rounds. If you want
that, go buy a merc. As far as damage, it
didn't do all that much. Mostly the reason
it's gone is that I would guess that it
makes zero fucking sense for masters to get
a power that perfectly mimics the main
ability of one of its classes.
the Tower is supposed to be a cabal of mages,
and now that we've got four mage classes,
it's enough to warrant not having non-mage
classes. Also, by taking out APs the Tower
was moved back towards an even distribution
of alignments, since there's a decent reason
to play a good-aligned conjurer for the
advantage it gives. As far as the classes
compare, Conjurers tank just as well as APs,
and can dish out a hell of a lot more damage.
So stick that in your crack pipe.
have you been? The War with Sylvan is ancient
news, from like a year ago. Battle has
tough powers? Wah, they actually fight back
now, and don't just die in droves to a single
master. Wah. I remember when Battle actually
fought back against the Tower and won half
the time, back when we *had* all the powers
you list. Times changed, Battle has now
changed with it. Mages are stronger in
general now, so put up, or shut up.
Air Major, and kick his ass out of the sky.
more for ranking than anything else. The
only people who didn't have something better
were Transmuters, and now Conjurers. As
far as Transmuters go, once they hit higher
levels they'll have a decent form to fight
with anyway.. and there's almost no reason
to play a Master Arcane (though I won't say
why), you should be a shifter with shapeshift
skill (especially since Tome makes it damn
easy to perfect the spell). Conjurers have
no real need of it, they do obscene amounts
of damage as is, whether ranking or fighting.
