I think in it's current state it's not really a viable cabal option.
That's a curious statement. What makes it less viable than any other cabal?
Now I know it's for the elite and good roleplayers, or at least that's what it is considered. Do any of you really think that it should be? This is a roleplaying mud, should only the exceptional roleplayers be let in?
I think you forget that this is also a religion, more recently the combination of a pair of religions. It has always been the case that admission into religions on CF has been tough, since anyone bearing the tattoo of an Immortal acts as a direct representative of that Immortal. I suppose we could start a tattooing frenzy and mark everyone that wants in, but I seriously doubt that would serve the CF populace, story, or role-play environment.
I am a mediocre(sp?) roleplayer at best, at least in my opinion. But it seems to me this cabal is for the most part unattainable by me.
That's probably a good thing.
The odds just seem to be stacked against them, which is part of why I wanted to try one.
Although it hasn't been by design, the typical Cultist seems to have "lone wolf syndrome" written all over them. Those that have joined the Cult and thought it'd be a big, happy, Scarab family have been disappointed, and probably shouldn't have made it through the screening process in the first place. It's a tough role to take and yes, a lot of the odds are against you in taking it.
