Firstly i am not playing. Everyone would know if i am playing. For the same reason why you think my chars are so obvious and it aint because of limited roleplay as you stated. People know who my chars are because i tell everyone. Examples of how people find out.

I dont expect everyone i tell to keep it quiet, who really cares?
Besides this way you can level with other skilled players through irc chating.
Thats the best thing about irc, that and the exchange of game knowledge.
How it works, is there is a loop. Good players are in the loop, shit players aint.
A person in the loop tells another person in the loop some new game info, he knows the other person might tell him something the following day. But people out of the loop, they never going to return info and since they aint in the loop they never going to learn it.
So the skilled get more skilled, and the newbies stay newbies...ahh, such a sweet arrangement.
Anyways...by all means define your character by your IC roleplay. But dont expect other people to do the same. Cf has so much more going for it than background stories and story containing conversations. But if you truely like this, go ahead, i really pity the people who do it, because they are after brownie points from the immortals (way too many people who kiss ass). Do what you want, when you want and never be afraid to say what you think.
People think i roleplay worse, or cheat more, not the case. I JUST ADMIT IT!, heaps of people exchange knowledge on irc. Do you have any idea how many people ask me on irc for info, even people i dont speak to. There are also tons of people who play chars that only pk. Most keep a low profile, why? because they dont want the imms attention. Which is why it takes balls to say what you think and what you do and who you hate.
