Yes, AMONG MORTALS. It is the doing of it by imms -- particularly wizi, but either way really -- that is so bothersome. If a sectleader or emperor had anath'd them, I bet there would be far, far less anger about this, and likely not even a peep. Because people know that their sectleaders and emperor are capricious and vengeful and mean and all the other relative adjectives. And while the Imm may be those things as well, it is *still* different, and still something that shouldn't be done nearly as much. While it may not be quantifyably different, it is enough that it *feels* different when it's done by an Imm, and that it changes from Imm to Imm so there isn't even some consistency there, in that smaller sample.
Let the Mortals do the anathing. You complain there are no mortals to do it? Well that's because you haven't made anyone sectleader and emperor. You complain that nobody is good enough? Too bad, the game has the players it has. Pick leaders and install them. If they fuck up, the other sectleaders and emperor can depose them. Better to have quick succession of leader after leader after leader (as would really happen in such an empire, witness Rome) than no leader at all. That *never* happens. Power/politics abhors a vaccuum, but because this is a regulated universe, you allow it to happen, and this is what goes on. And it should stop.
