Well, I'm playing one of the new paladins. And I chose to be a two-handed dedication. For those of you who are wondering, this means you can now use a few special tactics while fighting. Most of these amount to jabs, or serpent strike attacks with a few minor twists. Smashing them in the face here and there, hitting them in the leg. It seemed pretty interesting until you try to imagine using this in a fight.
The truth is, I see most of the two-handed dedication tactics being utterly useless in combat. While it is nice that they can in theory fight back against neutrals who attack them, all most classes have to do is bash away and they will shred the paladin. Ohh, and you don't have to worry about paladins actually hitting you back because they don't dual wield any more. Just stun em and you will deal out more damage then they do. Since two-handed specs can only parry this also means that you are going to tear into them because we know how good classes who can only parry are defensively. Funny that its called templars defense when they have been screwed over defensively.
The new supplications don't add up to shit. Crusade is really the only new supp, and this amounts to an extra blessing with a minor added affect. Won't help em out at all in pk fights.
Paladins haven't been given anything to help them fight necromancers or evil shamans. Ohh..and listen up everyone, they lost charge set, so, when you fight those ones who used to use that tactic to keep from being slept or withered, you don't have to worry about them any more.(As if it wasnt easy enough with a shaman anyway)
There is something about paladins praying to their gods on a regular basis to get new powers. This annoys me, as I HATE having to appease the immortals. I just want to play the game and not worry about them and not waste my time praying to people who think of seemingly worthless modifications to classes. They had better get some pretty amazing supps for their effort, or these new changes are just changes and not improvements.
It may be better for the shield specs but not for the two-handed specs. They are given the two-handed shaft.
Well, I'm done venting. I hope someone can say something to point out the flaws in my highly opinionated post. Aside from the obvious response of the changes just went in and we haven't seen all their new powers yet.
