Yes, they are intelligent adult people...and there are some of them who do nothing but spend as much time and effort trying to break, bend, cleanse,fold, and manipulate the rules as the entire immstaff does working on the mud. For reasons that I'm sure make sense to them...but are beyond my grasp of understanding.
Explain to me how the opinion that 'roleplay doesn't matter as long as you're good at pk'ing' is damned near to the truth? If this is the case, then damn...I'm not only enforcing the wrong rules, I'm working on the wrong MUD. Yes CF is a game where player killing happens, and is encouraged...it is also a game where roleplaying is demanded. I'll ask you to show me a time that someone has been denied for not attempting to pk...however compare that to the growing amount of people who get denied for not rp'ing. Also, have you ever heard of someone's heart exploding because of too much roleplaying at a low level?

I dunno...but I've yet to have one of my characters denied/kicked out of a cabal/etc etc etc...for lack of roleplay. It's hard to have an opinion of something you only see once or twice in a great while. Now, I'll grant you when it comes to mass-pk'ing...yep, they're better than me. I'd compare SMUG (in general) roleplay to the loch ness monster...people who have seen it say it's impressive...I however have only heard rumors of it, and am inclined to believe it merely a myth.

If you'd rather believe something outside of the truth...so be it. Contrary to popular belief of some people, the immortals do not set out to screw people over, deny characters on a whim...etc etc etc...so stop seeing us as the menacing face of authority...we're people, we sit behind a computer and try to keep a game running, if you feel the need to rebel against the few rules we have...perhaps you have deeper problems. Another thing to think about...maybe, just maybe the immortals deny people because they break rules..and not out of some self-serving vindictive agenda.
