And I think killing scourge/transform and giving a class-dependant extra is an interesting idea. As far as this: Deathblow/Bloodthirst: I always looked at deathblow as a compensation for an otherwise inability to wield massive damage attacks that are available to non-ragers, whether class (geyser/wrath/demonfire), staves/rods/wands/potions/scrolls, or special pieces of gear. These massive damage attacks are what most of us utilize to pound the crap out of the other guy in a PK (The Kamal logs vs Jafel and Peroleth show a different approach, but then Kamal is using Special Eq/prep even if he isn't going for the quick kill.) For illustration, how often have you died to a guy that used only physical attacks? Anyway, I'm getting off the point, but what I'm trying to say is I wasn't comparing DB to Defiance/HumanSunder/Blademaster's, I was comparing it to everything else out there available to non-ragers to level "big damage pound into dust attacks" on enemies. If it weren't for DB, ragers would be stuck with maims-injures on regular, physical attacks. And, personally, I'd rather have my "shit kicking magical big damage attacks" than DB. As far as bloodthirst, I just think the disadvantages/dangers of it more than compensate for its use - you, the rager, suddenly lose control of your fate. If I see a rager thirsting, I see a very vulnerable rager. The reason why I did is that Rager and Master powers are at some level of equilibrium. (Even in your post, you didn't use Rager powers as a yardstick, because they're roughly balanced.) And I found it odd that the same people could comment on Master being underpowered as Rager being overpowered, given that both cabals have powers that can be gained through using game knowledge with most classes.
Anyway, I understand that you're agreeing with me that Ragers are overpowered, and it's not a perfect anology to compare this thread to yours, but -
