> What I would have done: Stayed in role. When he said "I'm good at this game", I'd do a little emoting to show him that I look confused, and then ask him what game he is talking about. I'd drop some pretty strong hints, but I'd avoid saying anything that my character wouldn't say. In fact, I hate people that do these things. For chrissake, if somebody's new to the game and going OOC constantly, just send them a tell: "Look, you can't go out of character like this. Try to roleplay. And don't tell people about your other characters." No imm is going to smite you for helping newbies learn what IC/OOC is all about. What's your method do? You pretend you don't know what he's talking about, or just ignore him, then pray to turn him in? "Imms! This kid is ruining my experience! Somebody fix him!" You're not helpless, and you like to put yourself forth as someone who helps people with your boundless CF knowledge. The whole "emote to make him think you're confused" thing is just asking for trouble in one of several ways. First off, he might just think you're confused and try to explain what Monday Night Football is. Second of all, you'll eventually sit there emoting how you're confused at what "linkdead" or "online" means. And people who do that are just dorks. Somebody tells me, "Man, I almost killed this guy, but he went linkdead." My response? "Better luck next time. Perhaps he won't fall unconscious if you keep him interested in the fight. *snort*" Not, "Huh? What is this strange 'linkdead'?"
